The Authorization Manager console operates in either developer mode or administrator mode. Administrator mode is the default.

Before you can use administrator mode, you need to provide an application that supports roles, includes all of the necessary operation and task definitions, includes its own authorization store, and is ready for use in Authorization Manager.

After you set up an application in developer mode, you do not have to use Authorization Manager in developer mode for that application.

Developer mode

In developer mode, you can create, deploy, and maintain applications. With developer mode, you have unrestricted access to all features.

You must be in developer mode to do any of the following tasks:

  • Create new authorization stores

  • Create new applications

  • Define or modify operations

  • Change an application name

  • Change the version information for an application

  • Delete an application

Administrator mode

In administrator mode, you can deploy and maintain applications.
