Use the Edit Wildcard Mapping Rule dialog box and its associated tabs to create custom rules for mapping client certificates to Windows user accounts. The editor allows you to define whether certain client certificate fields match pre-defined criteria. Client certificates can contain identification information, such as company names, localities, or e-mail addresses, formatted into arrangements of fields and subfields.

You can create rules at any time but defer enabling to a later time.

The General tab contains the following elements:

Enable this wildcard rule

Select to configure IIS to enable the currently selected wildcard rule.

Description

Type an optional comment in the box.
